1 x Reinforced oil return hose. 1 x Turbo lubrication rigid hose. 1 x Turbo lubrication connection screw. 4 x Lubrication connection gaskets.

The interval between engine oil changes. Even if the manufacturer recommends maintenance every 20000kms, it is strongly recommended, on this 1.6l HDi engine, to replace the oil every 7500 to 10000kms to preserve your engine. Injector leak; if you notice black oil traces around the injector, feel a loss of power, the engine is loud and an odor of unburned gas comes into the cabin. It is important to address this issue quickly because the carbon buildup around the injector causes engine oil contamination which will eventually decrease the lubrication of the turbocharger and lead to its failure. The oil pan strainer and the banjo bolt filter on the turbo oil inlet are the two most sensitive elements to this contamination.

Oil quality, you must use a quality oil with viscosity of 5w30 or 5w40, seek advice from a specialist. The EGR valve can also cause this oil circuit pollution, so it must be checked before replacing the turbocharger. On some models, the oil pan must be replaced when replacing the turbo because of a design flaw preventing complete drainage of used oil during oil changes. If you have a yellow oil dipstick, inquire! The capacity increases from 3.4l to 3.9l which requires replacing the oil dipstick which is then orange in color.

The cause of lubrication loss and deterioration of engine oil quality has several possible explanations. Turbo failure is generally due to insufficient lubrication. The turbo shaft relies on pressurized engine oil cushion, it spins at extreme speeds. Any oil shortage will deteriorate it very quickly! 1 Drain the engine oil by using a pre-drain engine cleaner and replace the oil filter twice in a row: The engine oil must be at operating temperature. The vehicle must be on a horizontal surface (lengthwise and widthwise). Loosen the oil filter so that the oil can drain completely. Remove the filler cap and dipstick. Let the oil drain through the lower pan. Do not drain by suction! IMPORTANT: If the oil dipstick is yellow and made of synthetic material, replace it with a composite model in orange (ref 1174E6) and check if your oil pan needs to be replaced. 2 Clean: Thoroughly clean the oil cooler and the engine side filter with brake cleaner and dry the parts with compressed air. Clean the vacuum pump strainer with brake cleaner and dry it with compressed air. IMPORTANT: If the oil appears contaminated, you must first flush the system before continuing. Vehicles with less than 60,000 kms should clean the lower engine block. Vehicles with more than 60,000 kms should replace the lower engine block and oil strainer. 3 Check/replace oil lines: Replace the oil feed line with a new one.

Replace the hollow screw of the oil inlet and its gaskets. Replace the oil return line, its connection and gaskets. IMPORTANT: Check in the hollow screw that the pre-priming filter has been removed and is not left in the block. 4 Fill with oil and test: Replace the oil filter with a new one. Reassemble the drain plug with a new seal.

Fill the engine oil to the correct level. Position the oil return line in a suitable collector. Start the engine and let it run for 60 seconds at idle. The amount of oil drained must be more than 500ml during the 60 seconds. IMPORTANT: Do not run the engine if the oil level is below the minimum.

5 Fill with oil: Properly connect the new oil return line to the turbo. Fill the engine oil to the required quantity. Let the engine idle until the oil pressure light goes off max.

1 minute, Stop the engine and let it sit for 5 minutes. Check the oil level on the dipstick. It should be close to the maximum, without exceeding it. 6 Additional checks: Visual inspection of the injectors, if there is soot, it may indicate a leaking injector. Solve the problem before continuing. If contaminated, clean or replace it. Check the particle filter and replace it if necessary. 1560 ccm, 80 KW, 109 PS. 1.6 HDi 90 16V.
